It's easy to become overwhelmed by all of the things we should be doing to stem global warming. So, here's a list of little things we can do. Maybe we can just try one of these items out every here and there; eventually even these small changes can change the way we think about this issue. ( Edited by karj )

Local produce that's available in-season reduces the impact that unnecessary transport has on the environment. If you have a community farmer's market, walk over and check out all of the great produce on display; you'll do the planet a favor, support your local farmers, and get some great eats.
As consumers, we can make an impact just by choosing to purchase items that aren't wasteful. Last month I sent an email to Purdy's noting that even though I love their chocolate, I'd stop buying their products until they packaged them less wastefully. They never responded, which is a pity for them. Eventually, those companies that don't act responsibly will be beat-out by those who do. We can affect such change.
Lately I've tried to buy more used items where possible. This extends the life-span of products and reduces unnecessary demand. Some things are better this way anyways. I just bought a new guitar, and I like the fact that it has some character. Who wants to play a guitar that looks like it’s perfect? http://www.craigslist.com
We all love our cars, but given the crowds out there, transit can quickly seem like a better option. Last year I sold my car, and have since only relied on the Skytrain. This gives me some time to read, and with the extra money I have saved, I can take a cab when the mood strikes me.
Tell us what you think....
How come we've got a water shortage on a plant thats mostly water. Thats always pissed me off that we can go to the moon, Create Nuclear energy, and yet can't purify water.
Has anyone ever watched Pen and Tellers Bullshit? They do a very informative episode on landfill, and on Recycling. I would encourage everyone to see them.
