You'd think that the debate on the reality of climate change would be over: The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a group of over 2000 scientists from 100 countries, concluded in February of 2007 that global warming can be attributed to human activities.

Yet there are still deniers, most of them on the payroll for major coal and oil companies. And, boy, do they tell some whoppers!

"The scale of negative change is not enough to require action."

Why it's BS: "Under one of its mid-range estimates(*), the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) - the world's leading authority on climate change - has projected a global average temperature increase this century of 2 to 3 ºC. This would mean that the Earth will experience a larger climate change than it has experienced for at least 10,000 years." - http://www.royalsoc.ac.uk/page.asp?tip=1&id=6235
