Vietnam was horrific...but the pretenses of going in were clear (even if misguided and naive)...let's not forget that the French F@#ked things up in Vietnam first. Iraq was far worse, the sell was a pathetic lie, and US involvement promises to have far deeper repercussions than the Vietnam venture.
