I don't think he was evil perse, of course he was insane and i don't put insanity and evil in the same league. Someone evil is that who is perfectly capable of knowing what he is doing and the damage he is causing, and he do harmful things anyway. Agreed, I believe in eye for an eye if all is proven. He is getting the easy way out. If I were a family member of someone he murdered I would want him to be tortured very slowly. I think imprisonment for this type of criminal is not enough.
I think he's beyond evil, perhaps a new category should be made for him.
