Knitting is a long and slow process. Many people are surprised at the cost of a hand knit item because we are so accustomed to the prices we see at chain stores.

My hat (with the tree and sun applique) took approximately 7 hours to make.

What I'm wondering is, how long does it take everyone to make these? I asked the maker of the wood puzzle this and I'm simply amazed at his process:

Yes, each puzzle is hand made, using a table saw, sanders, a paper pattern glued to the taped-over wood, then hand-guided cutting the pattern on a scroll saw. Then more sanding of all corners & edges on a flap sander, and finished with food-safe oil. Then each puzzle piece is hung to dry in front of a large fan for at least 2 days before shipping.
"
