Tatum O'Neal was 10 in this photo...she was given the Best Supporting Actress award in 1973. Shirley Temple, when 6 yrs old, in 1934, was awarded an HONORARY Oscar for her achievements in film ( Edited by plmiller)

It might be an "on-the-fence" area when someone 10 years old wins an Oscar, so maybe that's the big deal. One wonders if a person this age would even remember an event like this and one wonders what the real importance of the award is.
