The person who created the thread has no more influence than anyone else. It's just that they often get more votes because they've added things that people can identify with.

I agree on most of them, but this threads are more focused on what the starter likes, rather than what everyone likes, but anyway, there's no way you can make everyone happy can you?

I think the notable part is Doreen's use of the word "album". I think there's a whole group of people who have only heard that word from their parents. That being said, I think "Top five 45s" would be a great topic as well--it would be funny to see how many people are perplexed by what a 45 might be. ;-)
