Led Zeppelin II changed everything for me.
These are all great records. I've owned each at least once. There is a problem though, unless you want to group all music under rock, 4 of the top 5 on this list do not qualify. 1.Grunge 2.Punk 4.New Age (back then anyway) 5.Alternative
This is a tough one because there are so many different sub-subjects for rock. I'll take a shot at it but my tastes are really all over the map.
