Ever ask someone what's on their iPod and have them uncomfortably respond, "uh... nothing"? We all have songs that we like, but won't admit to, as we think it won't seem "hip enough". So this is the moment of truth. Who's brave enough to show how unhip they are. (Twitter hash tag #unhip) ( Edited by karj )

Songs you're embarrassed to admit you like

Journey - Don\'t Stop Believing

Full disclosure: I probably wouldn't have found Journey again were it not for how prominenty this track was featured at the end of the Sopranos. Be that as it may, it caught my attention, and I spent the next Saturday at the office, transported to the early 80s, listening to Journey tracks.

Beat it - Michael Jackson

Speaking of guitar solos, Eddie Van Halen made "Beat It" one of the most popular pop songs ever. Even before the famous solo, the guitar part during the verses is what makes this song so catchy. I would put it higher but the lyrics are too weak. The video is priceless with rival gangs dancing together, how the 80s were so innocent.

"The Safety Dance" was the best-selling single by the 1980s synth pop group Men Without Hats, written by frontman Ivan Doroschuk. Released in the United States on March 16,1982 and in the United Kingdom in September 1983, the song peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one on Cash Box, as well as number one on the Billboard Dance Chart. In the United Kingdom the song also proved successful, reaching number six. It was actually released three times before sparking an interest on radio play. The song is the only major international hit for the group. Their follow-up album, Folk of the 80's (Part III), reached no higher than #127 on the U.S. Billboard 200 album chart.

"Sweet Caroline" is a pop song written and performed by Neil Diamond and officially released on September 16, 1969, as a single. There are three distinct mixes of this song. The original mono 45 mix had a loud orchestra and glockenspiel compared to the stereo version on the Brother Love's Travelling Salvation Show LP. The third version was a remix found only on the initial CD release of Neil Diamond's "His 12 Greatest Hits". This version has the orchestra mixed down very noticeably and has the background vocals mixed up. It has a longer fade as well. The song reached #4 on the Billboard chart and eventually went platinum for sales of one million singles. In the fall of 1969, Diamond performed "Sweet Caroline" on several television shows. It later reached #8 on the UK singles chart in 1971.

Rock You Like a Hurricane - Scorpions

"Rock You Like a Hurricane" is one of the most famous songs by the German hard rock band Scorpions. The song was released as the second track of their 1984 album "Love at First Sting". "Rock You Like a Hurricane" reached number 25 in the USA Billboard Hot 100, greatly contributing to the album's success, and MTV put the video in heavy rotation. In 2006, VH1 named "Rock You Like a Hurricane" number 31 on their 40 Greatest Metal Songs and in 2009 it was named the 18th greatest hard rock song of all time also by VH1.

Phil Collins - Don\'t Lose My Number

I know it's incredibly fashionable to not like Phil Collins, but I think he's great. In fact, I always have. His work with Genesis is amazing, and his 80s hits were all incredibly catchy. I rather loathe the Disney tracks he worked on in the 90's, but Face Value was such a brilliant record that I'll forgive his later blunders.
