The 80s were a great time for TV. These are the most popular shows from that decade: ( Edited by foligno )

Star Trek, The Next Generation

Star Trek: The Next Generation is a science fiction TV show created by Gene Roddenberry as part of the Star Trek franchise. Set in the 24th century, about 70 years after the original Star Trek, the program features a new crew and a new starship Enterprise. It premiered the week of September 28, 1987 to some 27 million viewers[1] with the two-hour pilot "Encounter at Farpoint", and, with 178 episodes over seven seasons, ran longer than any other Star Trek series ending with the finale "All Good Things..." the week of May 23, 1994.

The Cosby Show

One of the best comedies of all time. Realistic, serious and funny all at the same time. And shot in my hometown.

That was right at the tail-end of the 70s and just into the 80s. (The series ended in 1981.)

I hesitate to include Star Trek TNG as an 80s show. True, it started in the 80s but it only got better when it hit the 90s. The first couple of seasons were painful...

Confession. I loved Pee Wee Herman's Playhouse

For most of the 80s (aside from a couple of pre-scrambled satellite TV), I grew up with two channels. Most of the good shows were on channel 12, with very fuzzy reception. Anything good on channel 2 was usually pre-empted by the damn Stanley Cup playoffs.

Thank God I worked all day and played all night! I missed the eighties, not MISS but thankfully MISSED!

It's amazing to see remember just how bad television was in the 80s. It's a super-duper cheese-fest!
