I didn't like Dr. House when I first watched it, I did not get the humor in this show, but since everyone talked about this being so funny and good, I decided to give it another try, so I did. It's just so funny and good, and from what I know all that is included in this show has a basis on real medicine facts, so that's a plus. by jonascalva 4 months ago
Tell us what you think....
That's the trap most all procedurals fall into: they become formulaic. That's more a reflection of the audience preferences than laziness on the writers' parts. Meeting peoples' expectations keeps them in their comfort zones, and that keeps them coming back (maintaining ad revenues and paying salaries).
I love this show, but after you watch it for so long it seems like you hit a pattern with only a few exceptions. A patient comes in with strange symptoms, they make a bunch of wrong guesses, the symptoms get worse, House makes some witty one-liners here and there, get a couple more wrong guesses in, then House suddenly has a revelation or something, takes off without a word, breaks a rule or two and voila the patient is cured!
He's so snarky.
