As much as Vancouver is known for rain, we're known for coffee. In fact, I'd argue that the rain in Vancouver is what creates this dependence. Regardless, if you're in Vancouver, here are the places that the Vancouverites believe make the best coffee. ( Edited by karj )

Continental Coffee ( 1806 Commercial Drive )

Nice place - great coffee - free internet! Found this place accidentally - walking down commercial I suddenly had an overwhelming urge to check my email... Found the coffee to be great and very affordable (double latte' for under 3 bucks?!?!). Asked for some directions and information the barrista/cashier while my latte was being made and - not only was he happy to help - he had great information and suggestions (not to mention a smile on his face and a great attitude:) And last but not least - when I asked where I could connect to the 'net he said, "do you have wireless? we have service here". I asked if I needed to pay and he said, "you can if you want - but it's free". Wow, what a great place!

Finch\'s ( 353 West Pender Street )

Great Neighbourhood Lunch spot @ Victory Square I work on the S/W corner of Homer and Pender. Finch's is on the N/E corner Homer and Pender. Lucky me! The only place in Vancouver that consistently puts out delicious home-made soups stock full of healthy tastey ingredients. Oatmeal cookies that are, sadly, addicitive! Sandwiches on the best tasting baguettes, with original combinations of fillings... brie and pear, gypsy salami, etc. etc. To me these hand-made in front of your eyes sandwiches reflect the owners commitment to provide high quality food at reasonable prices.

I really hope there is more top five lists like this, it is very useful. If you have some spare change (on top of the already allotted coins for coffee) make sure to head to Dulcinea on Denman st.

Oh hey, Next time I'm there I'll check out the brand. Maybe it's sold elsewhere.

I think it's BC Grown Organic Coffee

Oh hah, nevermind, I realized you're coming from Richmond.

Hey Liesa, thanks for the recommendation, but where are they distributed mainly?

Ok, I know this is not Vancouver but...The Steveston Coffee Company has the best organic coffees and treats.

It's a tiny little surprise just across the street from long standing fish and chips shop-Dave's Fish n Chips. They sell their own blends as well, awesome coffee.

Sure beats the Starbucks and Blends that moved into our little Village!
