At this "Concept Japanese" restaurant, the food is always super fresh and presented with an almost French flair. Must-have: Mango Roll, Crispy California Roll, Fresh Oysters, Beef Sukiyaki

Tanpopo Japanese Restaurant (1122 Denman Street, Vancouver, BC, phone 604-681-7777) serves “all you can eat” sushi in its downtown, West-End location. Lunch time prices are around $12 for the sushi buffet, and dinner (which features a greater selection) is around $22. Service was attentive, and the kitchen was fast, bringing our orders out quickly. The sushi tasted really good too. I don't even want to add my favourite sushi place to this list because as soon as it becomes popular there will be a line around the block to get in, like Toshi.
For good cheap sushi I love Downtown Sushi Bar on Davie.
Paul Ho at Gin Kaku on Hornby & Drake. Fresh (wild salmon on weekends), no fuss no muss japanese food. Even though Paul is Korean...
For cheap sushi try "Bay Sushi Cafe" on Seymour Street.
