Next topic: Favorite Way to Spend a Sunday Morning
With all of the upheaval in the economy, many of us are looking to cut costs and be a little more conservative in our spending. So, I thought this was perfect fodder for a new list. What ways to cut your budget do you suggest? This might prove to be a nice little list for all of us. :-) ( Edited by karj )

Have you ever done the math on what a coffee out every day actually costs over the course of a year? With all the cash you save, you can buy one darned nice espresso machine, in no time.
Advertising continues to skew our balance and mess-up our lives. It has us chasing things that suck-up all of our cash and never return on their promises. The nicest way around this is to simply not play the game. Be happy with less, and seek joy in the people around you and the real things, instead of overpriced watches, bags and crap.
Buying everything stores is costly, bad for the environment and generally a little boring. As a result, a lot of sites are popping up around the trend of "do it yourself" projects. Lots of them have great ideas and ways to really make things that you love. ReadyMade and Instructables are sites like this that immediately come to mind; do you have any favorites to share? http://www.instructables.com
Remember that cell phone contract that you signed-up for that turned out to cost twice as much as it actually was supposed to? Well, the trick is to start talking to the other guys, ask them for their best rate, and then shop it back to your existing provider. Once they know that you're on your way, they're likely to cut your rate. (This works best when you are in the last months of your contract though.)
I don't do this, but I think I'm going to start. Using a credit card for buying things makes it feel as though the purchase is less real. From what I've read, studies have proven that people are better with money when paying cash. So, put the credit cards in a block of ice at the back of the freezer, and get out a fresh stack of bills. Maybe even a money-clip. Then you'll really feel like the mack daddy!

Eat less, saves you money and makes you skinny, prior to the late 60's and early 70's people ate less food, they had smaller plates, cups, and bowls.
Your car is really like a bad girlfriend/boyfriend. You love it, but it isn't doing anything for you. It sucks your finances, destroys the planet, and puts you in traffic jams. Sell it and take the bus, ride your bike, or join a car co-op. You'll feel better, the planet will love you, and your pocketbook will get fat.
