Volunteering your talent to an organization

I play drums, so I've used that to donate time to different organizations. I had a jazz band that used to play in seniors' care homes. I also do a show now and again for people with developmental disabilities who live in group homes. I also donated a couple of hours a week for half a year to the local youth custody centre, although there didn't seem to be too much appreciation from them for that.

Giving some nice clothing to the Salvation Army thrift shop

It's easy to hand off old clothes, but what happens when you give away things you like?

we were on a trip from pg to manitoba with our 5 small chidren and it was 36 above when our van over heated in the middle of an inter-section and someone almost hit us. we got off to the side and in to a buffet restaruant that was to expensive for all seven of us but we were hungry. we sat down and were deciding what to do when the waitress came up and said order what ever you want the man that just left gave me his credit card number and paid for your diner. we were so shocked, i cried and i am again as i write this and then when we went out there was oil and coolent sitting on the hood of our van!!! people realy can do nice things!!! thanks to the cowboy who helped us get home and fed us too!!!

In the vein of the 'paying for the coffee of the person in front of you' one, a couple of years ago, after having just moved to Vancouver and being completely broke, I was in the middle of a hectic day of job interviews and stopped for lunch in Subway. As I was paying I realised I did not have my debit card with me and the person behind me paid for my lunch. I was floored, it was so kind and so random. I will remember that forever!
