Next topic: Top five reasons that you get out of bed in the morning!?
Perhaps the most integral part of anything on earth. What happens inside our heads when we think? How do we learn and form memories? Can we improve our minds? Or are we limited by the way our brains behave? What are the most fascinating things the brain does? It's possible we actually do not know. At least not TRULY know. Yet... ( Edited by webdesign )

I suppose this is the most amazing thing about the brain. A friend of mine who is Chief resident at a hospital in NYC just educated me about the usage of the brain being small thing. It is a myth actually and proven that we do in fact use most of our brain.
This is not a theory, quite amazing. Brings me back to my college days, BRAIN CELL MIND course rocked.
I think the human emotional range is by far the most intriguing aspect of the human brain. It is what defines our life on a daily basis.
The adult human brain weighs between 1300 g and 1400 g (approximately 3 lbs). AMAZINGLY, a newborn human brain weighs between 350 and 400 g. For comparison: elephant brain = 6,000 g cat brain = 30 g http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_brain
I type at least 150 words per minute. I would love to see a visual of how the brain looks while this is happening. Or anything to be honest. That would be a cool iphone application! Check this video, very cool! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2X0sxfPDKc
This is a highly debated topic in science and really in general. I think we do use only a smaller part of our brain and need to find different methods of thinking to understand how to make use of more parts of it through research and intelligent thinking, perhaps diet, exercise, breathing and mental stimulus. Scientists have argued that we do not really use a small % of our brain, but noone knows for sure. Lots of nonsense and myths out there. It will be cool when we can actually document this. If anyone has video about this please post it up! http://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=121732
Hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do in all of sports. Then imagine trying to hit a knee buckling 70 mph curve ball after swinging through a fastball. AMAZING SKILLS to hit the ball at the major league level. http://www.exploratorium.edu/baseball/reactiontime.html
The left side of your brain controls the right side of your body & the right side controls the left side. How unique and amazing is that? The whole thing intrigues me to no end. http://www.neurosurgerytoday.org/what/patient_e/anatomy1.asp
If you divide a still image into a collection of small colored dots, your brain will reassemble the dots into a meaningful image. The only way we can see that this is actually happening is to blow the dots up so big that our brains can no longer assemble them. - AMAZING.
IS AMAZING...There are about 100,000 miles of blood vessels in the brain. If they were stretched out, they would circle the earth more than four times.
How insane is that? Insane.
There are no nerves that register pain within the brain itself, neurosurgeons can probe the brain while a patient is conscious. They can then use feedback from the patient to identify important regions, such as those used for speech. AMAZING. http://www.wellcome.ac.uk/en/pain/microsite/science2.html
So the other 25% does the work by being dampened I suppose. Unreal :)
PARKAY? No, really, this is insane...
