I'm not being a hothead. The makefive blog lists that its allowing its users to self regulate some of the user habits that creep up. Me and Nelson just happen to be outspoken about your obvious point seeking habits. You claim to be interested in every topic you post on, yet you often just seem to select options others have left, or re-word things to get more points. Its obvious.
I post these things publicly, both so that you see them, your actions are more obvious/transparent to other users, and so that the users who don't feel comfortable confronting your habits know that there is a group that is looking out for the website.
Again, I'm sure you have underlying good intentions with being part of the site, and I'm certainly not asking you to stop. But I think your habits are against what the site was for. Having fun is one thing, but you are taking away from it with your redundant, lazy topics, voting habits, and by your own admission, topic bumping habits.
I'm just being vocal about it, but me and nelson are certainly not the only ones who feel this way.
Keep having fun, keep doing what you do on your 100+ communities, that's fine. I'm not doing any of this for the prizes either. I just value the site and its owners and the users and want the community to grow.
wow... i'm not going to turn this into too much of a heated discussion, but i take issue with a number of things you indicated ...firstly, the makefive users you have mentioned are not bitter, nor are they hotheads -- i repeat, not bitter, not hotheads ... i would argue that a number of users, myself included, see the *COMMUNITY* in this, not the game, as you put it ... you seem to go on at length regarding the fact that you simply enjoy making lists. That's great; nothing wrong with that. "It is simply enjoyable for me" -- that's the bit of the challenge we have here, in that it appears to be all about you. This is a community. By continually voting and uploading topics that you have created, and having them therefore be on the home page, the makefive community looks like the webdesign community ... you are visually drowning out the voices of the other members ...but, it's likely the makefive updates being planned will help with this.
