Just put your hand on a piece of paper and trace it. Color it to resemble a turkey...great Thanksgiving craft for the little tikes...also a keepsake for Mom to remember how little the child was, if you date it. http://www.ehow.com/how_9193_make-handprint-turkey.html
Nothing like some stick and yarn....
This project can be a lot of fun. You could have the kids make up a story about a number of animals, and make the respective puppets to act out their story. Time consuming and creative for the mind and body http://familycrafts.about.com/cs/puppets/a/blpbpuppet.htm
Step1-Fold the paper along the diagonal to form a triangle. Then fold it in half to form a smaller triangle. Step2-Unfold the paper. There should be two creases along the diagonals of the paper. Step3-Cut along the creases, stopping 1 inch before you reach the center. Step4-Use a sharp pencil to make a hole in the center of the paper. Then use the pencil to make a sharp hole on one side of each corner. Step5-Gently fold each corner toward the center of the paper so that the holes line up with the center hole. Push the paper fastener through all of the holes. Step6-Add a bead to the end of the paper fastener. Step7-Poke a hole in the side of the straw. Then add the straw to the end of the paper fastener and fold the sides of the fastener back. http://www.ehow.com/how_4852985_paper-windmills-children.html
Rolling bees wax or dipping....dipping was fun because you could put your hand in the melted wax and scare your friends by peeling it off as it dried.
You can use a shoestring and some tube style noodles(ziti or macaroni) to have kids make their own jewelry. The noodles can be painted or left as they are from the package. http://sewing.about.com/library/blnoodl.htm
