It's interesting to see how it changes as time passes. Before him it was David Carson, and prior to that it was Stefan Sagmeister.
It makes sense i got that it was more of a Hypothetical disagreement in him being number 1.
I gather that you're wondering why he has fewer votes, yet is ranked higher. Their overall score is related both to the number of votes they have as well as where they are ranked in each person's top five list. (i.e. someone with four #1 votes will rank higher overall than someone with five #5 votes.) Does that make sense?
