Agreed. The thing is, people confuse Arial's nature. It's not supposed to be Helvetica. It's a good screen font. In fact, it's a great screen font. (Even though it looks like ass in print settings.)

Just like Comic Sans--we like to make fun of it (I certainly do), but it was never intended to be Gotham. It's not a full-fledged family. It's a silly little typeface that's good if you need something to look naive and goofy.

This probably shouldn't be considered in the "worst typeface' category, but instead the most hated by designers category. Rip-off at its finest.
