From the Parksville Qualicam Beach News in the late 1990s... after receiving handwritten letters from a "Warren Betenko" praising local Liberal MLA Paul Reitsma, the paper contacted a forensic expert who compared the letters to a sample of Reitsma's writing and found an exact match. Reitsma was kicked out of the Liberal caucus and resigned his seat when a recall campaign against him was almost certain to succeed. Reporter Cam Purdy won a Webster award for his efforts on this.
