To be honest, the more and more I get involved with these bickering fights on this site, the more childish it feels to deal with some members here, and the more I feel I lose offline credibility as a designer, which is what drew me to this site in the first place.(Through Eric's blog/writing) I value the topics, the community and the majority of the members on this site.
I especially admire the hardwork that went into it, and the fun that I and others have had here. In the time since the alexmerced/masi/webdesign inclusion, everything seems to have gotten to an immature level, and I'm not comfortable with that.
I don't want this to turn into an AOL chatroom circa 1998, where its name calling and anger because of the anonymity of the internet.
My name is Mark Dudlik, I'm a designer, and I'm on this site to interact with people that I find interesting in their daily interactions. I am here while things render, or while I'm waiting for other parts of my workday to move forward.
I don't want to be laughed at because I am bickering with a member on this site. Though it may be too late for that, I just wanted to be here to have fun and learn, and try and be part of the site as it grew, and thats what I intend to keep doing, minus this type of interaction, and interaction on other parts of this site.
I like how you try and reduce our opinions webby, because we're so consistent with them. I have said enough on this topic, as it relates to you and your involvement on this site. Aaron, the things you mentioned are great. I think a few people have had similar sentiments to the owners, regarding participation vs. topics, and i think in the end, no matter what happens, someone will just point search. They mentioned some new ideas for involvement this month. So, at least for me, I'm just sitting back, trying to wade through the endless topics that webdesign makes and bumps constantly, and just enjoy the site and you fine people on it.
