There have been a lot of great cyclists and a lot of famous cyclists but who do you think are the top 5 cyclists of all time?

1. Eddie Merckx

There's really no contesting the fact this guy was the greatest of all time. No one else has come close to winning as many races or in such dominating fashion.

2. Bernard Hinault

Another killer rider that would probably give most riders today a run for their money.

3. Lance Armstrong

He may not be the best but he destroyed the TDF SEVEN TIMES. That's crazy.

4. Miguel Indurain

The Mig was one of the greatest time trialists ever to ride but he could still climb the hills too. What a bad ass.

5. Mario Cipollini

He sucked at the hills but he is quite possibly the greatest sprinter whose ever lived. And such flair!

6. Marco Pantani

He died with the word "doper" never being able to be erased from his name. It's too bad because he was still one of the best climbers to ever ride.
