What Not to do at the next Office Party!

Your behavior at the office party can help or hurt your career. Remember that the office party is still a business function. It is wrapped in a social context, but it's still a business function. Many other business events have a social context, such as taking the client to lunch or attending the charity dinner to receive the award for the company. Those who observe your behavior at the office party will remember it when they consider you for other business social events. The good news is it works both ways.

1. Pass out

Uncontrolled UNconsciousness is a very bad thing at the office party. Photos could be taken, mumblings could be stated(fact or fiction), bodily functions could be shared(unintentionally)...really bad things. How much do you like your job?

2. Blab any company secrets

Well, if you are imbibing too much at an office party, you probably shouldn't be the person who holds company secrets. At an office party there is a certain level of "comfort" one might assume because of the casual atmosphere, add free-flowing cocktails...Voila!...a recipe for loose lips
